Sustainability

As a sustainably-minded company, we’re constantly looking for new ways to care for the environment and minimise our own global footprint.

It’s the small, consistent changes that make the biggest difference, and that’s why we’re committed to mitigating our own impact, day by day.

These are just some of the ways we’re striving to be green:

Sustainable Logging

The hallmark of sustainable logging is balancing the needs of the environment, wildlife and communities, with the unavoidable demand for wood. We make sure all the wood we use is 100% sustainably logged, and we always aim to use native veneers to reduce the carbon footprint.

FSC Certified Plywood and Veneers

We make sure all the wood we used is approved by the Forestry Stewardship Council® (FSC®) who promote responsible management of the world’s forests through setting standards on forest products, as well as certifying and labelling them as eco-friendly.

Water Based Paints and Lacquers

We only use water-based paints and lacquers which, because of their lower VOCs compared to solvent-based products, have a significantly lower environmental impact, and are much less harmful to breathe in.

Low Formaldehyde MDF

We use MDF panels with low formaldehyde emissions to minimise the toxins that are present in your home and in the air.

General Waste

We currently throw out less than half a domestic-sized bin of general waste every fortnight - So little that we may have to change our collection date to monthly!

Recycle or Re-use all our Offcuts

As an environmentally precious resource, it’s important to us that we don’t waste wood. That’s why we reuse or recycle all our offcuts and even our sawdust.
