Designed around a rich palette of natural and highly tactile materials, this Southborough Road kitchen combines bespoke craftsmanship with thoughtful everyday functionality. Custom crown-cut oak veneer cabinetry brings warmth and character to the space, with the expressive grain pattern creating movement and depth throughout the joinery.
A defining feature of the project is the use of Richlite, an innovative material manufactured from compressed paper and resin. Valued for its durability, tactile quality and ability to develop character over time, it introduces a distinctive texture that sits comfortably alongside the natural timber and stone surfaces.
The result is a kitchen that feels both highly functional and deeply connected to the way the home is used, with every material and detail carefully selected to balance practicality, comfort and character.
The kitchen is centred around striking Antarctica quartzite worktops, whose natural variation and subtle veining provide a beautiful contrast to the warmth of the cabinetry. A Lacanche range cooker forms a focal point within the room, bringing together professional performance and timeless design. Bespoke timber slatting introduces rhythm and architectural interest, while a built-in window seat and custom banquette dining bench create inviting spaces for gathering, dining and everyday family life.
